Strategic Plan

We are proud to share our newly completed five year strategic vision (2018- 2022). This plan, developed over months of engagement by our Board of Directors and staff with input from over 75 members and key organizational allies, will guide us through the growth needed to effectively meet the challenges and embrace the opportunities that lie ahead. Knowing that Oregon needs a strong political force advocating for women and all people who can become pregnant, we have identified goals and strategies that we see as critical to our organizations’ – and our movement’s – success.

Integrity

We honor the value and dignity of all individuals and the contributions of volunteers, donors, organizational partners, community members, and staff. We act with honesty and transparency and remain true to the missions of NARAL Pro-Choice Oregon and the NARAL Pro-Choice Oregon Foundation .

Inclusivity

We seek reproductive justice for all; we strive to protect the dignity of all Oregonians to access reproductive health care without discrimination or coercion. We work to integrate the experiences of diverse communities into our organization, policies, and programs. We seek meaningful and sustained relationships with our friends and partners to strengthen our collective work and the communities we serve.

Innovation

We are creative problem-solvers who seek new approaches to protecting reproductive health and furthering reproductive justice. We anticipate and respond to the evolving needs of our constituents, communities, and partners. We actively strive to bring about change.

Perseverance

We are unwavering in our commitment to break down barriers to reproductive health care so that all people can thrive. Our work is seldom easy and this challenge inspires us to greater efforts. We fight against abortion shame and stigma and advocate for affordable access to the full range of reproductive health services.

Our Commitment

We recognize many factors shape and impact an individual woman’s reproductive health services. Issues such as economic justice, the environment, immigrants’ rights, disability rights, and discrimination based on race and sexual orientation play key roles in women’s ability to access health care and place real life constraints on what we have traditionally thought of as choice.

We remain a reproductive rights organization as we embrace a reproductive justice framework. We look to our peers in this movement—women of color and young women who have been fighting for reproductive justice for decades. We look to them for their wisdom, experience, and expertise. We seek meaningful relationships as we become a better ally for organizations fighting for racial, gender, and economic justice. We hope to actively carry out this important intersectional work together.

With this framework, we will address and champion a wider range of issues related to reproductive health. We now recognize that factors such as transportation, documentation status, housing conditions, employment, and gender identity impact people’s ability to access just and dignified health care.

We believe that all people should have the power and resources to make healthy decisions about their bodies, sexuality, and reproduction for themselves and their families without fear of discrimination, exclusion, or harm. We will work to break down barriers to health care so that all people have the opportunity to thrive.
